How To Treat Achilles Tendinitis

You are probably wondering how you can treat an Achilles injury without going to a foot and ankle clinic. We recommend that you practice two important exercises at home that will strengthen your tendon to prevent further injuries in the future. One exercise requires you to push your arms against the wall while leaning forward. Then, straighten your injured heel by placing your foot firmly on the ground. Your other foot can come in front, and you will feel a satisfying stretch. We recommend that you repeat this stretch 20 times for ten seconds. Another exercise is similar, except it requires you to lean on a low countertop in a similar position. The difference is that the countertop will be lower than you, and you will need to use your core to support the rest of your body. Simply hold onto the table and squat. This will stretch your tendon, and you can repeat this for the same amount as the other exercise. You will be amazed at the results.

Causes Of Achilles Injuries

Many people often wonder how they got an Achilles injury in the first place. There are many different causes of this injury, but here are the most common ones:

  • Overusing the tendon until it lacks flexibility
  • When your calf muscles contract very suddenly when an effort is put into them
  • Jumping up and using the tendon after being stagnant
  • Exercises that involve running stairs or hills
  • Suddenly running faster than normal during mileage
